The 20th-anniversary edition of PANTERA's "Cowboys From Hell" album will be in released on September 14.

Three different versions will be available:

* Two-CD expanded edition,
* Three-CD deluxe edition (includes one unreleased demo track, "The Will To Survive")
* Three-CD deluxe box set (includes one unreleased demo track, "The Will To Survive")

Originally released on July 24, 1990 via Atco Records, "Cowboys From Hell" was produced, engineered and mixed by Terry Date. Just shy of a year after its release on July 16, 1991, the album was certified platinum in the U.S. for sales in excess of a million copies.

PANTERA manager Kimberly Zide Davis, who joined Concrete Management in 1994, and served as vice president of artist management until the organization ceased operations in 2003, was interviewed for Guitar World's January 2010 issue, which paid tribute to late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. During the chat she stated, "[In 2010], we're going to do a 20th-anniversary re-release of 'Cowboys From Hell'. There will be some extra stuff people haven't heard before, deluxe packaging, digital remastering... I wish there was more [previously unreleased material], but that's one thing about PANTERA; they didn't do extra material. What they did is what everybody got. They didn't do throwaway songs. . . We're [also] going to re-release the entire catalog on vinyl. And then in 2012 we'll do the 20th-anniversary deluxe reissue of 'Vulgar Display Of Power', and then the same for 'Far Beyond Driven' in 2014. There are also a few other things we're working on, like trying to come up with a good way to get live shows out to fans, whether through downloads or a web site or some other avenue. And hopefully we'll release a fourth home video. The footage is definitely there. It's just a matter of getting it all together."

PANTERA's career-overview CD, "The Best of Pantera: Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys' Vulgar Hits!" (Elektra/Rhino), was certified platinum on January 13, 2006 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments in excess of one million copies in the U.S. The band's classic "Vulgar Display of Power" (Elektra) album was certified double-platinum in 2004, signifying shipments of more than 2,000,000 units in the U.S. since its February 25, 1992 release.

Rhino Video in April 2006 released PANTERA's "3 Vulgar Videos From Hell" — a three-DVD set featuring all the band's videos as well as live footage shot during the Monsters of Rock gig in Moscow. Originally released on DVD in 1999, this version features the same content with improved menus and all-new Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. In fact, it is the first PANTERA release ever in 5.1 Surround Sound. It features: "Cowboys From Hell The Videos", "Vulgar Video", "3 Watch It Go", and "Pantera Live From Monsters of Rock In Moscow".

Dimebag Darrell was co-founder and lead guitarist for PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, Dimebag and his brother Vinnie Paul formed DAMAGEPLAN. On Dec. 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by Nathan Gale. He was 38 years old.

Brazilian/American thrashers SEPULTURA have inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

Commented SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser: "We are happy to be at Nuclear Blast, especially in the year we are celebrating 25 years of history, and it is a great honor for us to join forces with the most metal label in the world. I am sure this will be a great journey for both of us and we are already working on new material while on the road.

"Let's go for another 25 years!"

Added Nuclear Blast A&R manager Jaap Wagemaker: "Yes, you got that right! Another great thrash band has joined the Nuclear family!

"We have been following the band around Andreas and Derrick [Green, vocals] for quite some time now and every time when we saw them play live, we were equally impressed by the sheer energy that they create on stage!

"After inviting the band to come to Donzdorf [Germany; Nuclear Blast's worldwide headquarters] and having some talks with them, we soon found out that we are all on the same page regarding what would be best for the future of SEPULTURA!

"After 25 years of forging high-class thrash metal, the band is more alive than ever and we at Nuclear Blast are very happy that together with SEPULTURA we will work on another successful chapter in that history! A new album will be out in 2011 and judging from what we heard from the band, the best is yet to come!"

SEPULTURA's latest album, "A-Lex" — the group's first LP to be recorded without either of the founding Cavalera brothers (Max and Igor; on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively) — sold around 1,600 copies during its first week of release in the United States back in January 2009.

On "A-Lex", Andreas Kisser and his three colleagues, Derrick Green (vocals), Paulo Jr. (bass) and new addition Jean Dollabella (drums), dedicated themselves to Anthony Burgess's book "A Clockwork Orange", creating an awesome thrash metal opus around this timeless and exciting subject. The material was produced by SEPULTURA and Stanley Soares at the Trama Studios in Sao Paulo and mastered by George Marino at New York's Sterling Sound studios.

In a recent interview with Sonic Excess, Kisser stated about the band's 11th studio album, "I am very happy with 'A-Lex'. The album came out in January [2009] and we did two tours in Europe. We still want to go back there and a few other places we haven't been to yet. We played Argentina with IRON MAIDEN and it has just been a great tour. But I am very happy with the album; it was inspired by the film 'A Clockwork Orange' and an amazing book. We did a version of ninth symphony from Beethoven, so it was a great experience to record that album especially with a new drummer. This album has presented up with a lot of possibilities, we are thinking about playing the album with an orchestra."

When asked if SEPULTURA was worried that some people might not understand the progressive nature of "A-Lex", Andreas replied, "Not at all. For SEPULTURA this has become so common to bring something different. Of course, we lose and gain fans in doing that. If you put together all of our albums, they are all different. That is the way we are, always looking for something new. We cannot please everybody, that's impossible and hopefully we never will. I think it's good to have some criticism because that will show you stuff you don't see."
Michigan thrashers NOCTURNAL FEAR have announced the addition of guitarist "The Axes Of Death" Chris and bassist "SpecialForces Kommando" Warmonger to the group's ranks. The band is currently writing material for its fifth full-length album, tentatively titled "Excessive Cruelty", for a late 2010/early 2011 release via Moribund Records. Working songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to last year's "Metal Of Honor" include the following:

* "I am War"
* "Human Shield"
* "Murder for Hire"
* "You're the Disease (I'm the Cure)"
* "Rolling Thunder"
* "Excessive Cruelty"
* "Absolute Annihilation"
* "World War 3"

Commented the band: "We shall emerge no sooner than this winter, stronger, faster, louder, and heavier to unleash an assault that will crush the enemy into submission. Trendy false-metal scum are in for a rude awakening, for they have made a fatal error in miscalculating the resolve of the true legions of metal — NOCTURNAL FEAR 'bangers kill!!!"

02. Head Up High
03. Sweet Curse
04. Million
05. In Sickness 'Till Death Do Us Part: All Goodbyes Are Said

09. Fast Forward
10. Kill Me With Silence
11. The Trial Of Monsters
12. Under My Skin
13. I Lost Myself

Bonus track:

14. No Honey For The Damned

After the breakup of AFTER FOREVER, Jansen decided she wanted to start over and present a new band to the public as soon as possible. To accomplish this, she joined forces with two additional songwriters to first compose, then record an album. A live band is soon to be formed after the CD's completion, which will get her back on stage where she belongs.

The first composer to join this new collaboration was found when Waldemar Sorychta (GRIP INC., ENEMY OF THE SUN) contacted her to inquire about her current activities and potential future cooperation. Being a fan of GRIP INC., Floor was honored by the possibility of working with Waldemar. Sorychta's unique style, combined with his experience as songwriter/producer, made Jansen's dream come closer to reality.

The second composer was found in AFTER FOREVER colleague Joost van den Broek. Asking Joost to join seemed logical because of his great keyboards and arrangements, and therefore his potentially valuable contribution. Despite his busy schedule, he wanted to join and get started immediately. With him on board, the songwriting team was complete!

The REVAMP sound is described as "a unique blend of the personal style listeners will recognize from these musicians."

REVAMP team:

* Floor Jansen: songwriter/singer
* Joost van den Broek: songwriter/producer/keyboardist/arranger for album
* Waldemar Sorychta: songwriter/producer/ guitarist and bass player on album
* Koen Herfst: drummer on album
* Jaap Melman: bass player live
* Ruben Wijga: keyboard player live
* Jord Otto: guitar player live
* Arjan Rijnen: guitar player live
* Matthias Landes: drummer live

BROTHER CLYDE is the new rock band started by country star Billy Ray Cyrus. The Los Angeles-based combo also features Samantha Maloney (MÖTLEY CRÜE, HOLE, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL) and guitarist Jamie Miller (drummer for THESTART, SNOT), within its ranks. The band will release its self-titled debut album on August 10 via Buena Vista Records/Fontana. The first single from BROTHER CLYDE, "Lately" (audio stream), is available now on iTunes.

"I always loved rock 'n' roll," Cyrus says. "That was a heavy part of what I was as a young juvenile delinquent. I tried from my first album to rock like any other Southern rock band." Fate — and country music immortality — intervened, but for BROTHER CLYDE, he followed an oh-so-rock-and-roll dictum: No rules. No limits. No preconceptions.

Cyrus not only produced the album, he co-wrote most of the songs, several with Morris Joseph Tancredi, a musician he met under unlikely of circumstances. Tancredi was his driver in Vancouver, B.C., during production of the 2009 film "Christmas in Canaan". Recalls Cyrus, "This kid asks me what I'm doing now musically. I played him the first song I had written for BROTHER CLYDE, "Crawl", and he says, 'I didn't know you did that. That's straight-up alternative rock.' Then he said, 'I have some stuff of my own you gotta hear."

The first single from BROTHER CLYDE, "Lately", was written by Tancredi and is available now on iTunes. After a few acoustic grace notes, the song comes down hard with a broadsword of power chords and a lamentation about a faithless world. With its throaty harmonies, "Lie to Me" picks up on the theme, only writ small, tracing the lines of a ruined relationship. There's no let-up with "Waiting", a punishing rocker drawing from an emotional pool of deep sadness yet a will to survive. Cyrus digs even deeper on "Slip Away", "How Long" and "Crawl", the latter a rocker with echoes of JANE'S ADDICTION at its most furious.

BROTHER CLYDE also features the irresistible track "The Right Time", an upbeat duet between Cyrus and a shockingly hard-rocking Dolly Parton. "Dolly she said she wanted to rock," remembers Cyrus, who had been working with Dolly on a film. "She came to my studio, brought homemade corn, mashed potatoes and a spread of country cooking. We ate, played guitar for an hour then she just kicked ass. She became like Tina Turner. You could tell she really wanted this."

The album ends with JOHNNY CASH's "Walk the Line", recorded in 1998 with Cyrus and a lineup of all stars. "I was at a place in my life where I didn't fit in with all the hat acts Nashville had at the time," he says. "I just wanted to rock." So he assembled drummer Owen Hale, keyboardist Johnny Neil, bassist Allen Woody, guitarists Mike Estes and Ed King, and harmonica player Michael Jo Sagraves, and the rest is basement tape history. Literally. It was recorded live in Johnny Neil's basement.

U.K. noise rockers OCTOBER FILE are set to appear in "Zombie Driftwood", a new movie by Emmy Award-winning director Bob Carruthers. Carruthers is a huge fan of the band and thinks the track "Falter" from the group's recently released "Our Souls To You" album (via Candlelight Records) is the track for the film. Bob stated, "I recently saw the band live with FEAR FACTORY and they blew me away. 'Falter' just suits my movie so we started talking to them and have now got the band written into the movie.

"I am very happy to have the band in the film. It should be great fun having them play to 200 odd zombies."

OCTOBER FILE will have to do some acting as the group that turns up for a "Battle of the Bands" competition and ends up becoming zombies themselves. The track "Falter" will be also be the music for the end credits.

OCTOBER FILE bass player Steve Beatty commented: "It all looks like great fun. We go to the Caymans to film and get a sun tan, drink beer and get eaten. What could be better?!"

Candlelight Records will release the full "Zombie Driftwood" soundtrack CD. Music from the following acts will also be used in the movie as incidentals: CITY OF FIRE, DIVINITY, ALTAR OF PLAGUES, BLOOD OF KINGU, OBSIDIAN, NACHTMYSTIUM, WODENSTHRONE, GNAW THEIR TONGUES, WINTERFYLLETH, DEMONIC RESURRECTION, YAOTL MICTLAN, WOE and ABIGAIL WILLIAMS.

The 75-minute-long "Zombie Driftwood" film follows a small group of people fighting off marauding zombies who get to the Cayman Islands on a mystery cruise ship that shows up with no one on board — or at least, no one alive.

"What I liked was this idea of the cruise ship that disappears in the Bermuda Triangle and appears in North Side with no passengers. There are lots of opportunity for satire, like zombies in Hawaiian shirts and shorts," Carruthers said. "It follows all the conventions of the genre. People get trapped and besieged," he added. "Although the film is about zombies and people being bitten and killed, it also promises plenty of comic relief."

The film makers plan to have the zombie flick ready for release in the U.K. and U.S. in October, in time for Halloween, and to be selling it to the international TV market at MIPCON in Cannes, also in October. "Provisionally, we're looking at Saturday, 25th September for a screening in Cayman," the director said. Alongside Bob Carruthers as producer is David McWhinnie who produced "Obseldia" — winner of the award for "Best Cinematography" at this year's Sundance Festival.

The DVD is set for worldwide release in October via Komet Media.
